The district championship is coming back home to Wimberley for the first time in over eight years as the Texans defeated the Davenport Wolves 11-6.

Wimberley finishes the regular season with a 177-1 overall record and a 9-1 district record.

With Davenport defeating Wimberley on Tuesday 10-6, the Wolves and the Texans are heading back to Wimberley tied for first place at 8-1, with the winner on Friday taking home the district championship.

Alex Abrusley put the Texans on the board with an RBI single in the bottom of the first.

Jake Dewell extended the lead in the bottom of the second with an RBI single on the bunt before a balk allowed another Wimberley run, making it a 3-0 lead.

Sage Hall and Maverick Jacobs were both hit by pitches with the bases loaded before a two-run RBI single by Alex Abrusley made it a 7-0 lead going into the third inning.

The Wolves scored two runs in the third and fourth innings before the Texans answered.

In the bottom of the fourth, Jacobs forced a bases loaded walk before Santana Raye hit a tworun RBI single, extending the lead to 10-2.

Davenport hit a tworun RBI double, making it 10-4 before Dewell hit an RBI single to push the Wimberley lead up 11-4.

The Wolves scored two more runs but were unable to complete the comeback as the Texans captured the win and the district championship.
