The San Marcos Rotary Club hosted a fundraising party celebrating the Kentucky Derby on May 2, complete with mint juleps, pecan pie and festive derby attire. The event was held at Zelicks Icehouse with major support from sponsor La Cima. The proceeds from pie sales and a raffle will benefit Rotary’s support for local charities.
Other supporters of the event were H-E-B and the Rotaract Club of Texas State University. Kevin Katz organized the event. Rotary is nonprofit, nonpolitical and nonreligious. The San Marcos club is 105 years old.
