The San Marcos Zine Fest celebrates local DIY publishing and local creativity. The fest brings together artists, writers and zinesters to share handmade magazines filled with art, poetry, comics and personal stories. Attendees can browse zines while connecting with creators. Organizers are encouraging attendees to bring their own zines to trade with vendors.
Rooted in independent culture, the fest highlights San Marcos’ vibrant arts scene and self-expression within the community. Saturday from noon-5 p.m. at Sean Patrick’s Irish Pub, 202 E. San Antonio Street. Entry is free. For more information, visit [email protected] To check out more zines, visit Alkek library on the Texas State campus, which has a great collection of vintage zines on the third floor next to the graphic novels.
