Crash shuts down I-35 in Kyle

Update — Thursday (9:50 p.m.): All lanes on Interstate 35 have reopened. 

Kyle officials said Pedernales Electric Cooperative arrived on the scene and cut the power from the downed power lines.

Original Post: Interstate 35 in Kyle has been shutdown because of motor vehicle accident, Kyle Police said.

Emergency personnel are working on the accident near the 215/216 mile markers on I-35, police said.  Both north and southbound lanes, and the frontage road, are currently closed. Officials said power lines are reportedly down in the area.

Police say to seek alternative routes if possible and usecaution in the area.
