Gary Job Corps cadet reaps honors for life-saving efforts

The Hays County Commissioners Court proclaimed Jan. 15, 2019, “Gary Job Corps Corrections Cadet Michael Lewis Day” to thank him for his lifesaving action in assisting a man who was seriously injured at Sights & Sounds of Christmas Dec. 5, 2018.

According to Chief Scott Raven with the San Marcos Fire Marshal Office Park Ranger Division, Lewis protected the man from the assailants who were chasing him, and then rendered emergency first aid. He was also able to give San Marcos Police Department officers a description of the men, who were later arrested.
