Kissing Tree adds new low-maintenance housing options

Kissing Tree, the first baby boomer-centric community from Brookfield Residential, will debut its two new low-maintenance home options this month with the addition of Villas and Cottages. Both offer smaller floor plans and lawn maintenance included in HOA fees. Sales of these new homes will begin on Sept. 9 and home construction is set to start this winter.

“We strive to create floor plans that keep our homebuyers’ needs in mind while providing them with a variety of housing options,” said Tammy Schneider, vice president of sales and marketing at Brookfield Residential Texas. “We’re so excited to be bringing these new beautiful and effortless living spaces to our community.”

The first of the Villa and Cottage models will have a grand opening on Sept. 14 from 3-6 p.m. and will include tailgate bites, games and live music. Spots are limited and guests can RSVP at http://kissingtree.com/campkt.

Villas will be located in the Strand neighborhood and are a zero-maintenance option, with full exterior home maintenance including lawn care, paint, roof repairs and exterior insurance on the structure. They’re designed to be community-focused, offering the closest proximity to The Mix, Kissing Tree’s 20-acre amenity campus. Cottages are to be located in the Fairway neighborhood surrounding the 18th hole of the Kissing Tree Golf Course and provide another low-maintenance home option with full lawn maintenance.

The Villas will start in the low 200s and are available in four floor plans, ranging from 1,030 to 1,703 square feet, with two plans available in a two-story structure. Villas also offer golf cart garages, garage extensions and two-car garages in select plans. Although each residence has its own private entrance and front patio, these paired residences have two identical floor plans on either side of a soundproof wall within what appears to be one large home.

Cottages will start in the mid 200s and are available in five single-story floor plans ranging from 1,332 to 1,903 square feet. The Cottages will also include options for side-load and two-car garages.

Kissing Tree is a distinctly Texan community built for those 55 and older. Set in the scenic Hill Country, the planned 3,200-home community is conveniently located between Austin and San Antonio in San Marcos. The name Kissing Tree recalls Sam Houston’s gubernatorial speech in 1857 in front of a mighty oak tree in San Marcos, where he famously kissed several of the female attendees, creating a bit of a local legend.

The Welcome Center at Kissing Tree is open daily from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. For more information, visit Kissing Tree's website or call 512-270-3467 for an appointment.
