Judge Tacie Zelhart of Hays County Court at Law County Court #3, will speak to the local National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Group on Monday, Sept. 9.
The NAMI Group meets at the First Presbyterian Church, 410 W. Hutchison St., at 7 p.m. The support Group normally meets on the first Monday of each month, however, since the first Monday of September falls on Labor Day the meeting was changed to the ninth. The group is primarily for family members and caregivers of persons living with a mental illness. However, all interested people, including mental health professionals and those living with the illness are invited to attend this meeting.
Judge Zelhart has been practicing criminal law for over 16 years, and helping people who live with mental illnesses navigate the criminal justice system for the past several years. She was appointed Judge of the newly created County Court at Law #3 in October of 2018.
