School Fuel’s mission is to provide the “fuel” for a better learning environment by removing the pangs of hunger among the students in our classrooms, according to its website. School Fuel reports that it is currently serving 885 students who have a high-risk of little or no food at home. On average the cost is about $215 per student for the whole school year, School Fuel’s website says. Each sack consists of two meals and four snacks for each day of the weekend.
