Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos celebrated their annual “Noche de Gala” Saturday evening at the Embassy Suites San Marcos Hotel and Conference Center.
The Keynote Speaker for this year’s gala was notable author and poet Sandra Cisneros. Cisneros is a writer and artist whose work explores the lives of the working-class. Her classic, coming-of-age novel, “The House on Mango Street,” has sold over six million copies, has been translated into over 20 languages, and is required reading in elementary, high school and universities across the nation.
