The Walkers’ Gallery is seeking art that will showcase the international dimensions of the greater San Marcos area.
This exhibit invites artists with non-US origins who currently live in or around San Marcos, artists who identify with more than one “home” culture and artists who — from ancestry or innate attraction — feel deep connections to countries or cultures outside the U.S. mainstream.
Show organizers hope to represent as many cultures as there are representatives and one doesn't necessarily have to be an artist to participate. If your country of origin is elsewhere but you yourself are not an artist, contact organizers to be part of the exhibit in one or one of several possible ways: If you have — or have access to — an artwork or cultural object from your home of origin; if you know an artist from your country, they can be invited to share their artwork; or if you have special photographs from your home culture, one or more could be displayed.
Art is to be submitted on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Walkers’ Gallery in the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins Street.
This is not a juried show, but some selection may take place before finalizing the accepted works. Contact organizers Linda Kelsey-Jones or Debangana Banerjee to request an advance entry form or for questions.
Art exhibits at the Walkers’ Gallery are sponsored by the San Marcos Area Arts Council and the City of San Marcos with support from the San Marcos Arts Commission.
