Man arrested for alleged sexual assaults

An 18-year old San Marcos resident, Daniel James Deluca, was arrested twice this month for alleged sexual assault.

According to incident reports obtained from the Texas State University Police Department, both incidents occurred at Bobcat Village — 1301 Aquarena Springs Dr.  — a Texas State University apartment complex.

The first incident, listed as a subclass “Rape, Strongarm” occurred on Aug. 17, and the second incident, listed as subclass “Rape, Attempt to Commit Forcible” occurred between Sept. 28 and Sept. 29.

Deluca’s roommate was involved in the second incident, according to information obtained in a probable cause affidavit.

Deluca was released on a $50,000 surety bond for the first arrest and a $20,000 surety bond for the second arrest, according to Hays County court records.

According to Texas State University, Deluca is no longer a student at the university. When asked whether Deluca left the university on his own accord or was suspended/expelled, the university said that it could not provide that information.

Likewise, the university did not offer a statement regarding the incidents, which occurred on campus, when asked by the Daily Record.

In addition to Deluca’s arrests for sexual assault, he was also arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance in early September.
