Hays County and the City of San Marcos will both hold special meetings to canvas results from the November 5 election on Monday.
The Hays County Commissioners Court will meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Hays County Courthouse, 111 E. San Antonio St., San Marcos, on the third floor in the Commissioners Courtroom to canvas the election.
The City of San Marcos will hold a special meeting at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall - E. Hopkins St., San Marcos - to canvas results and swear in two councilmembers to Place 1 and Place 2.
According to an official canvas results report, for San Marcos City Council Place 1, Maxfield Baker received 1,929 votes and Mark Gleason received 1,898 votes. In Place 2, incumbent Saul Gonzales received 2,274 votes, Lisa Marie Coppoletta (“LMC”) received 1,120 votes and Devin Barret received 423 votes.
Likewise, Council will consider nominations and appointments of the Mayor Pro Tem and optional Deputy Mayor Pro Tem.
