Hanukkah begins with menorah lighting at courthouse lawn

Hanukkah began Sunday To celebrate, the Chabad Center of San Marcos hosted its annual menorah lighting ceremony on the northwest corner of the Hays County Courthouse lawn. Hanukkah celebrates the victory of the few against the many, the powerless over the mighty and the light over the darkness. The festival lasts eight days and ends on Dec. 30 this year. Rabbi Ari Weingarten lights the Menorah. Daily Record photos by Gerald Castillo
