San Marcos Police are investigating an overnight rollover accident that resulted in two deaths.
The accident occurred near the 1000 block of State Highway 123 at approximately 11:58 p.m. on Thursday.
Officials say the San Marcos Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle crash where two people were ejected from the vehicle. According to an initial investigation, a purple 1998 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on SH-123 when it veered to the right. The Accord hit a driveway culvert causing it to roll. Both of the vehicle’s occupants were ejected. Police say neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt. No other vehicles are believed to be involved, SMPD said.
The driver of the Accord — identified as Daniel F. Aguilar, 52 of Kyle and Seguin — was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Maggie Moreno. The passenger — Raymond D. Silguero, 55 of Waco and San Marcos — was transported to Ascension Seton Hospital in Kyle where he was later pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Scott Carey.
The SMPD Collision Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the incident. These are the first two traffic fatalities in San Marcos in 2020.
