Ike's Love & Sandwiches opens San Marcos store

Ike's Love & Sandwiches opens San Marcos store

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, the cult favorite sandwich shop from San Francisco, opened its first location in San Marcos on Monday.

This is the fourth Ike’s location in the Austin metropolitan area following the company’s recent opening in Round Rock. A Grand Opening celebration will kick off on Friday, Jan. 31 with free sandwiches for the first 25 Instagram followers in line, $5 sandwiches all day long and the chance to meet Ike Shehadeh himself. Onsite entertainment will be provided by Mix 94.7 FM with music, games and prizes.

With hundreds of sandwich combinations on the menu — including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options — there is something for everyone to love at Ike’s Love & Sandwiches.

The sandwich empire is known for its eclectic array of location-specific offerings, and the San Marcos location is no exception.  Two new sandwiches debuted on the menu are “Can I Drink You a Buy” made with fried chicken, orange buffalo barbecue sauce and American cheese, as well as a vegetarian version called “We’re Not Normal” with vegan fried chicken, orange buffalo barbecue sauce and pepper jack cheese.

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches opened its first location Texas in 2019.  The San Marcos location is now the fifth in the state. Today, Ike has over 70 restaurants open across 5 different states. The company expects to have 100 locations open by the end of this year.

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches first opened in 2007 under the name “Ike’s Place” in San Francisco with sandwiches created by Ike Shehadeh.  The small sandwich shop quickly developed a cult and celebrity following, thanks to the creative and delicious offerings on Dutch Crunch bread with “Ike’s Dirty Secret Sauce.”  Ike is constantly adding new styles to the menu with many named after celebrity athletes who often work with Ike to develop their own sandwich creation like the Madison Bumgarner, Andre S.O.G. Ward and Marshawn Lynch. Each location opens with its own exclusive sandwich, imaginatively named for the community.

The brand-new store is located on the Downtown Square at 301 N. Guadalupe St. Store hours are 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily.
