Martha Joyce Teasley Lengefeld

Martha Joyce Teasley Lengefeld was born on July 30, 1922, in Buda, Texas, to Robert H. Teasley and Myrtle Coleman Teasley. She passed away January 24, 2020.  Joy attended Kyle schools and graduated from Kyle High School at the age of 16 in 1939.  She entered nursing school that same year at St. David’s school of nursing until it closed, and she was transferred to Baylor school of nursing in Dallas, Texas.

Joy met the love of her life in grade school in Kyle, Texas, and married Harry B. Lengefeld on January 27, 1942, a marriage that lasted almost 62 yrs.  She was a godly mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, and she had many, many friends.  Joy had the extraordinary capacity for loving greatly and totally.  She loved us all so well.  You could see the love of Jesus in her blue eyes and smile.  People could see the Lord in her daily walk and commitment to God and to his church.  She taught children in Sunday school for many years in her church.  She was a great Christian influence in our family and pointed us to the cross and her savior who she invited to come live in her heart at the age of 10.  She leaves a high mark for us to emulate and reach for and her legacy lives on in our children and grandchildren.  She will be so missed.

Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Robert H. Teasley, her husband, Harry B. Lengefeld, her son, Harry B. Lengefeld, Jr., her great grandson, Joshua North, her sister, Dell Branyon, and brothers-in-law Tom Branyon, Jr. and Arch A. Bell.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne McGee and husband, Bill, her daughter, Cynthia Watson and husband, Gene, sister, Margaret Bell, grandchildren, Heather Menn and husband, Bill, Holly North and husband, Mike, Hope Wilson and husband, Kevin, Sean Gould and wife, Adrian, Shana Baldwin and husband, Patrick.  Great grandchildren, Presley Milson, Paige Milson, Caleb North, and wife Mariah, Tanner North, Annie Grace North, Luke and Phillip Wilson, Cole and Cason Baldwin, Jane and Ty Gould, and several nieces and nephews.
