The fourth quarter has been an Achilles’ heel for Texas State.
Whether the team enters the final period with a lead or deficit, the Bobcats haven’t been able to exit any of their Sun Belt games on top — until Saturday.
The maroon and gold went into the fourth quarter trailing UT Arlington 44-41. This time, Texas State (8-12, 1-8 Sun Belt) shot a volcanic 71.4 percent from the field and outscored the Mavericks (12-9, 6-3) by 20 points in the fourth to claim their first conference victory, 72-55.
