The Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter will hold its Healthcare Professional Conference “Building Bridges: Person Centered Partnership in Dementia Practice” on Friday, Feb. 21 at the Embassy Suites in San Marcos.
“Our goal is to bring Alzheimer’s-specific education to the local and surrounding healthcare professionals in Central Texas,” said Maxine Vieyra, program director with the Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter.
Conference speakers include Program Director & Regional Research Champion with the Alzheimer’s Association Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter Ann Marie McDonald as well as Dr. Yvonne Lozano, professor of gerontology at the University of the Incarnate Word and Joyce Simard, a private geriatric consultant.
Registration is required and includes breakfast and lunch for all attendees, plus 6.5 CEUs for nurses and social workers and a certificate of attendance for students. The cost is $70 for healthcare professionals with CEUs, $60 without; $25 for students (student ID required) and free for family caregivers.
