Lori Assaf, a professor of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at Texas State University has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program grant to work with Faculty of Education at Universitas Tanjungpura in Pontianak, Indonesia.
Assaf will work at Universitas Tanjungpura for two weeks, where she will give several lectures on language learning, using technology to support language learners and how to integrate language and literacy strategies. She will facilitate a writing workshop for faculty and graduate students on academic writing for publication and will be the plenary speaker for a national conference on Trends in English Language Teaching Methodologies.
“I’m looking forward to learning with my international colleagues and am so pleased to be chosen to conduct this important work,” Assaf said. “One of our goals is to explore ways Texas State University and Universitas Tanjungpura can develop a formal relationship for our teacher candidates and doctoral level students. I am excited about the many opportunities this project will provide.”
