San Marcos Consolidated ISD continues to monitor and coordinate with regional government agencies amid growing concerns of COVID-19, district Superintendent Michael Cardona said in a letter to parents on Friday.

The district continues to monitor cases throughout the region following positive cases of coronavirus in Austin-Travis County on Friday and the first presumptive positive case in Hays County on Saturday. There continues to be no confirmed cases in the school district.

“The (City of San Marcos’) emergency management efforts remain vigilant and San Marcos CISD will continue to follow the recommendations of the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Hays County Health Department and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,” Cardona said in his letter.
