Widespread rain is expected throughout Hays County and Central Texas, beginning Friday evening into Saturday.
The National Weather Service forecasts a potent upper level disturbance, which is expected to bring good chances for showers and storms from west to east. The NWS states that strong to severe storms are possible. Following Tuesday’s heavy rainfall and rain throughout the week, this weekend’s weather could produce flooding.

Additionally, the NWS’ Storm Prediction Center expanded the severe weather threat for Friday and Saturday farther east, which includes San Marcos. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threat during the weekend’s weather threat.
