Hays County Fire Marshal investigating fatality in Buda

An early morning house fire in Buda resulted in the death of a woman, according to Hays County officials. 

According to Buda Fire/Emergency Services District (ESD) #8 Chief Clay Huckaby, the fire department and Buda EMS/ESD #2 were dispatched to the 400 block of Overlook Mountain West at about 6:20 a.m. Friday morning. Huckaby said crews arrived on scene to a fully engulfed residential structure fire where flames and smoke were visible from all sides and the roof.

“Following a primary interior search, fire crews recovered one unresponsive female occupant,” Huckaby said. “She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.”
