This morning’s Hays County Commissioners Court meeting will include a vote on a resolution to support legislation prohibiting billboards on several roads in Hays County and to add some roads to the list. House Bill 1303, filed by Blanco and Hays counties’ Rep. Erin Zwiener in the Texas House, would add Farm Road 1826, Ranch to Market Road 150 and Ranch to Market Road 967 to the list of roads in the Transportation Code where “off-premise signage” is prohibited.
The commissioners will vote on a resolution supporting the addition of FM 1826, sections of RM 150 and RM 967, along with additional legislation putting RM 12 from Wonder World Drive to State Highway 290, FM 2325, FM 3237 and RM 32 on the list of roadways where billboards are limited.
Commissioners will also accept a donation of hazardous material masks to Hays County Animal Control deputies from the Hays County Citizen Sheriff’s Academy Alumni Association. The masks are meant to help protect deputies from hazardous health conditions they might encounter during an animal seizure. During an animal seizure in Buda in lat 2018, according to an arrest affidavit, an animal control officer who went into the residence where the animals were kept tested positive for histoplasmosis and underwent treatment. The disease occurs in cats and can be deadly.
