Mary “MJ” Jennings Hegar, Democrat, is running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Texas. M.J. Hegar lives in Texas. She graduated from Leander High School. Hegar served in the U.S. Air Force. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Hegar’s career experience includes working with the American Civil Liberties Union and as an author, writing her own memoir Shoot Like a Girl.
