St. David’s Foundation awarded $4 million to 67 organizations that provide support in Hays County as a part of its second and final phase of its COVID-19 Recovery Fund.
The total phase II fund awarded nearly $6.5 mil lion to 116 organizations in Central Texas. Phase I awarded $3.5 million to Central Texas partners serving on the front lines of the pandemic.
The COVID-19 Recovery Fund provides support to those impacted by the pandemic while advancing health equity. Phase II of funding addresses some of the most critical issues the most vulnerable populations are facing.
Each organization receiving funding in this phase is serving rural populations and communities of color, and providing vital services including behavioral health and emotional well-being, basic needs, childcare and access to health care services.
Funding has been given to School Fuel, CommuniCare and Mano Amiga in its Phase I and II.
Of the 116 organizations receiving Phase II grants, 41% of funding supported behavioral health and emotional well-being, including individual counseling, peer support, community outreach, parent education, youth development and community healing.
Funding was prioritized for populations who are inequitably bearing the brunt of the COVID-19 crisis, including people of color; people living with disabilities; people experiencing homelessness; refugees; immigrants; and LGBTQ communities.
