Board considers possible restructuring, could take action in early December
San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District Board of Trustees listened to another presentation and additional public comment on the possible restructure of the board from five single-member districts and two at-large trustees to seven single- member districts at their regularly scheduled meeting Monday, Nov. 13. There were only two public comments on the item: one was for the restructure of the board and one was against it.

Since our beginning, KZSM has nurtured and supported the vibrant San Marcos music scene with our Kissing Alley concert series and especially with our programming. More than ten of the more than twenty music shows on KZSM 104.1 and KZSM.org feature performers from San Marcos and the surrounding area, many of them live in the studio. TXST University is sending Strutters to participate in Chicago's Thanksgiving Day Parade celebration
The award-winning and iconic Chicago Thanksgiving Parade returns on Thursday, Nov. 23 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. traveling up Chicago’s legendary State Street from Ida B. Wells Drive to Randolph Street featuring the return of the beloved giant balloons. This free family tradition, now in its 89th year, showcases talent from across the nation. A highlight of the 2023 parade will be a performance by the Texas State University Strutters from San Marcos, according to a press release from parade officials.

Under the Sculpture Interim Area Head Sarah Hirneisen’s guiding hand, students at Texas State University are learning how to transform the ideas in their minds into three dimensional reality.
