Law enforcement often needs help from the community to identify suspects and get to the heart of what really happened. Crime Stoppers is a way for people to provide tips without interacting with law enforcement. And if the tip is unique and leads to an arrest, it could also lead to a cash payment — giving all the more incentive to provide good information.

Council to hear new update on Comp Plan
San Marcos City Council is set to receive an update from staff and the Comprehensive Plan Ad Hoc Council regarding the VisionSMTX++ plan, consider rezoning approximately 18 acres of land near I-35 and Centerpoint Road to Light Industrial and consider the approval of several contracts ranging from $118,654 to $537,510 at the regularly scheduled meeting at 6 p.m. today.

Court will discuss court reporter salary increase
The court is set to adopt a National Crime Stopper Month proclamation and a National Blood Donor Month proclamation, discuss and possibly take action to increase three County Court at Law court reporters' salaries, extend a concrete contract with price increases and authorize new plumbing for three juvenile detention cells at the regularly scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. today.

Tables available at LBJ Museum Benefit Gala
The LBJ Museum of San Marcos is a two-story museum on the downtown square that celebrates the former president that used to call this city home, and it is supported by public donations. It will be hosting its annual benefit gala beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, and fittingly, it will be held at the LBJ Student Center Ballroom at Texas State University. The museum is currently looking to sell additional tables for the event.

City to rededicate Crossroads Memorial
The city of San Marcos will host a rededication of the LBJ MLK Crossroads Memorial to honor the ten-year anniversary of its unveiling on Monday, Jan. 15. The event will begin at 9 a.m. at the intersection of MLK Drive and LBJ Drive.
