Commissioners will address payroll issues, outsourcing inmates costs
The Hays County Commissioners Court is set to discuss employee payroll disbursements, price increases for outsourcing of jail inmates, remaining American Rescue Plan Act funding and looking to possibly pursue membership in the Texas Housing Foundation at the regularly scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. today.

KZSM–Is going places so help station get there
Now, in our seventh year of providing community- based programming to engage, enlighten, and entertain you, KZSM is expanding! By the end of October, we will be on the FM dial with our familiar call letters, at a frequency to be determined. With this expansion, our mission will broaden to include emergency broadcasting, a responsibility that comes with the low-power FM license that has been donated to us by the City of San Marcos.

Family to discuss travels with club
Gary and Donnelle Gooch have been around the world–twice. Their most recent cruise took four months. The couple will relate some of their experiences in a presentation to the Rotary Club of San Marcos on Wednesday, June 7 at noon at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, 105 Bintu Drive. Visitors are always welcome at meetings.

Up, Up and Away
The San Marcos Public Library lawn was buzzing with all the excitement local children could bring Friday. Generating the enthusiasm was the Summer Kick-Off party hosted by the library. This was an opportunity to celebrate both the beginning of summer and to let loose after the conclusion of the school year. Children found a bounty of activities to get them motivated to spend time at the library this summer, enjoying this year’s theme, “Up, Up and Away.”
