Contractor arrested for property theft
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office recently investigated a theft case involving a contractor. As a result of the investigation, a suspect in this case identified as John Paul Vargas Jr, 45, was arrested for theft of property, $150,000.00 to $300,000.00 with a previous conviction, a first degree felony offense, according to a press release from the office.

DEAR ABBY: I am tattooed. I have 11 spread over my body. I grew up with strict rules. My mom always said no piercings (other than ears) or tattoos while I was under her roof. I got my first tattoo at 22 while away at college. I had to tell her about it because of a family beach vacation. She was disappointed. I have continued to get inked throughout my life. Every time she noticed a new tat, she voiced a negative opinion.

Classic TXST is tour highlight
The Heritage Association of San Marcos' 46th annual Historic Spring Tour is approaching and will feature the stunning art and architecture of Texas State University. Visitors can explore several of the university's most fascinating historic structures, sculptures and art, the Bruce and Gloria Ingram Hall and MakerSpace, the Albert B. Alkek Library, and the Alkek One MakerSpace fabrication shop. Golf Carts will be available for those who are mobility impaired. Lemonade stops will be available along with cafes that the university will open for the day. MakerSpaces at both the Alkek Library and the Bruce and Gloria Ingram Hall will be open for tours which will run every 30 minutes.

THE ECONOMIST: Outlook for Texas Economy
It goes without saying that there’s a lot going on in the economy these days. The United States (and most of the rest of the world) is dealing with high (though moderating) inflation, rising interest rates, struggling industries and markets, geopolitical tensions, and a host of other uncertainties. Nonetheless, I remain optimistic regarding the potential for growth, although the path will probably not be as smooth as we would hope.
