How to safely support someone in an abusive relationship
The following article is part four of a five-week series focusing on raising awareness about domestic violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, and we hope to educate our community on this very important issue Locally, the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center has been serving victims of domestic and dating violence, sexual assault, and child abuse since 1978. Last year, HCWC served 2,055 victims of abuse (face-to-face) primarily from Hays and Caldwell Counties. 816 of those were victims of domestic violence.

Editor, I wonder if Rey Garcia, the city engineer who oversaw the Victory Gardens Improvement Project ever came back to inspect all the flaws committed by the contractors hired by the city. And, I also wonder if the city paid them extra for taking a year longer to complete the project which in all actuality, they should have been penalized for each day they took longer to complete. No worries, the taxpayers can foot the bill.

Editor, Jane Hughson deserves to be reelected. She has been a critical force for the community for preservation of historic culture. Importantly, she has been an attentive force and watchdog for the calculated planned development of the city‘s ongoing growth.
