Soprano Impatiens will be a performance to your shade garden
Soprano Impatiens will be a performance to your shade garden
The biggest surprise in The Garden Guy’s testing this year comes courtesy of the Soprano impatiens. I cannot remember the last time I planted what we call bedding impatiens. I'm sure I had dark hair and was still helping children with homework. All I can say is Holy Wow. 08/29/2021 05:00 AM

National Waffle Day
National Waffle Day
August 24 is National Waffle Day: A whole day to celebrate the wonders of waffles. While the dinner table might be where families catch up and share stories of their day, breaking bread at breakfast time can be just as enjoyable. That’s especially true when families take the time to create homemade breakfasts, such as the following recipe for “Orange Whole-Wheat Waffles with Yogurt and Fresh Berries” from Susie Cushner’s “Sunday Brunch” (Chronicle Books). 08/22/2021 05:00 AM

Go boldly into August with blazing Geraniums
Go boldly into August with blazing Geraniums
The Garden Guy is ‘Boldly’ going into August with geraniums blazing. I could also say I am going into August with ‘Boldly geraniums blazing. It wasn’t too long ago that August and Geraniums in the South would have been the definition of a garden oxymoron. Boldly geraniums have changed all of that. 08/22/2021 05:00 AM
