Rotary supplies snacks to teachers during STAAR testing
The Rotary Club of San Marcos expressed its thanks to teachers and school administrators by supplying snacks to those administering STAAR tests last week. Individually wrapped snacks, water and soft drinks were available at De Zavala Elementary School throughout the testing period.

KZSM — The Selfless Lovers play Kissing Alley
KZSM.org, your true community radio station, proudly hosts another Kissing Alley Concert this Thursday, May 19, from 7-10 p.m., featuring The Selfless Lovers. Like all concerts in the series, the event will be free of charge, open to the public, and family friendly. Historic, atmospheric Kissing Alley runs off Hopkins Street, just opposite the courthouse. The series began in 2017 with the support of Downtown SMTX; KZSM.org is proud to have been designated Partner of the Year for 2021 at the Love Downtown Awards ceremony. This year’s series is supported by an Arts and Culture grant from the San Marcos Arts Commission.

Graceful Tut Family creates true container elegance
Prince Tut and the dwarf exquisite Queen Tut papyrus grasses have put the proverbial ‘Ta-Da’ in ‘The Garden Guy’s’ containers this year. The story, however, really goes back to October. I have two containers I call smoke stacked in their shape. They are about 20-inches tall, ceramic glazed and about the diameter of a Frisbee. These containers get adjusted two or three times a year and I am headed to where they were what I call, ‘Tut Tweaked.’
