My journey this week takes me to a column titled “The Charles Schulz Philosophy” which I read years ago, a derivative of the Peanuts by Charles Schulz comic strip. As the columnist said, “You don’t have to actually answer the questions…just ponder on them. Read the questions straight through, and you will get the point.”

LBJ Museum, Texas State to host debate on electoral college Monday
The LBJ Museum of San Marcos will host a public debate on Monday, Oct. 26, 2020 at 7 p.m. via Zoom and featuring The LBJ Debate Society of Texas State University against The University of North Texas Debate Team. The topic for the debate is, “The United States Should Abolish the Electoral College.” Hannah Nunley and Jacob Everett of Texas State will propose the topic and Alex Delarosa and Jose Sanchez from North Texas will oppose the motion.

Albert Emil Dietz
On the morning of 1 October, Albert Emil Dietz passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in San Marcos, Texas at the age of 88. He is survived by his loving wife, Edna May; his siblings, Doris Trevorah and Frank Dietz; his three sons and two daughters-in-law, Albert Steven and wife Jennifer, Mark David, Michael Paul and wife Elly. He had five grandchildren, Lorrin Simmons-Wang (Henry), Sharon Dietz Calderon (Paco), Aidan Wolf Dietz (Desirae), Mirabella Brianna Dietz and Sofia Nichole Dietz; and three great-grandchildren, Heidi Lucia and Max Emiliano Calderon and Camila Rae Dietz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Max Dietz and Bertha Christman Dietz; his brothers, Robert, Paul, and Charles; and his daughter, Sharon Jane.

Georgia Ann Morris of Maxwell, Texas passed away at the age of 75 on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Georgia was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia on March 17, 1945 to the late Tommy Lam and Margaret Lam.

Lupe Salinas, 87, of San Marcos, Texas died on Thursday October 22, 2020. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27 at Thomason Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. Services will take place Wednesday, October 28 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Martindale at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale. Luciano Sanchez Garcia, 72, of Kyle, Texas, died on Friday, October 16, 2020.
