Department of Energy grant aims to unlock future carbon management research, education at Texas State University
Salah Faroughi, assistant professor in the Ingram School of Engineering at Texas State University, has been awarded a grant by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) to study the university’s potential for future research and education into carbon capture and storage.

City begins negotiations on new police contract
The city of San Marcos and the San Marcos Police Officers’ Association are in new formal negotiations to discuss issues related to wages, hours of employment and other terms and conditions of employment, some of which have generated wide public involvement, for city police officers. These negotiations are in anticipation of the city and the SMPOA drafting an agreement for ratification that would be effective at least through 2025 and potentially longer.
