Thursday, February 3, 2022

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is asking for residents’ help in identifying suspects involved in a shooting near an Amazon facility in Buda.

The sheriff’s office said deputies and Buda police responded to the facility after they were notified of a “shots fired” call at approximately 9 p.m. on Tuesday. HCSO stated that while searching for suspects, Hays County communications received calls of shots being fired in the Sunfield Subdivision. Responding deputies were diverted to that area, where they made contact with a resident who said his residence was struck by a round from a firearm, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies continued their search but were unable to locate anyone involved in the shooting, HCSO added. The sheriff’s office is asking residents of the Sunfield Subdivision who have video cameras to check them around the hours of 8:30-9:30 p.m. for possible vehicles and suspects in this crime. HCSO stated that residents should call the sheriff’s office at 512-393-7896.

Additional information regarding the incident was not available at the time of publication. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-324-8477 from anywhere in the U.S. or information can be submitted online to Tip Line.
