Texas State Police in search of sex assault suspect
Texas State University Police are in search of a suspect in a sexual assault at The Retreat on Ranch Road 12.
The suspect may still be in the area, the Texas State University Police Officers Association tweeted. The suspect was described as a black male, wearing black clothing, ski mask and is armed with a handgun.
San Marcos Police are in search of a suspect in a home invasion, sex assault.

***Update: The investigation into the sexual assault at the Retreat earlier today is ongoing. No suspect is in custody at this time but the San Marcos Police Department will conduct a press briefing at 10 a.m. Friday morning at the Police Department.
Details will also be given regarding an apparent separate rape incident that occurred at Edge Apts and was also investigated this evening. An arrest warrant has been signed for Keith Vallen Louis III, 25, in relation to this case. Louis is a black male, 5’10”, 160 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. This is the incident that resulted in the visible police activity in the area of North LBJ Drive and Craddock Street Thursday evening. The Police Department cannot confirm that Louis has any involvement in the other recent sexual assault cases. The search for that suspect continues.
Police are asking for residents to remain vigilant about keeping their doors and windows locked and report any suspicious persons or activity. An increased police presence in the area of these crimes will continue through the night.
Notify University police or SMPD of any suspicious people or activity.
