Downtown Walkabout steps into spring

Third Thursday
Thursday, March 21, 2019

The Downtown Association (DTA) of San Marcos is hosting the kick off 2019 Third Thursday March Walkabout today from 6-9 p.m.

The March Walkabout “Spring Steps” will focus on the cities natural attractions for Spring Break, promoting SMTX as a wonderful #SMTXexperience for a vacation, as well as staycation.

The event takes place in historic downtown San Marcos and features a variety of activities and entertainment for attendees to enjoy. The organization partners with KZSM Community Radio to put on the Kissing Alley Concert Series in coordination with this monthly event. Each month is an opportunity to support local charities through Donate Downtown, a grassroots initiative focused on encouraging community contributions in the city center.

Shop with ease throughout the evening by grabbing a free ride from Movemint Pedicab around the event.

There is something for everyone as many of the downtown shops stay open late with deals, restaurants offer specials, artists vend their creations, musicians provide live entertainment, galleries host demonstrations from established artists and so much more. This will also be an opportunity for Donate Downtown to accept monetary or material donations.

This event is put on with assistance from funding granted from the San Marcos Arts Commission and in partnership with various entities throughout the community.
