'Father Militant' Screening

Friday, January 24, 2020

After two years in the works, action drama series “Father Militant” will have a free public screeningSaturday in San Marcos at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center, 1001 E. McCarty Ln.

“Father Militant” is a series about a priest who finds trouble in his town and decides to turn towards his dark past to save the innocent.

The show was filmed and produced by local Shane Scott, who has worked on “Spy Kids,” “XXX” starring Vin Deisel and several independent films.

Though the first four episodes of the series were shot out in Los Angeles, Scott wants to move the production to Hays County’s growing film scene andl eventually launch the series on Amazon Prime.

There will be two screenings of the first episode on Saturday. Jan. 25, with the first at 7 p.m. and the second at 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public — though the series is not kid-friendly with  scenes that depict violence and some language — but attendees must RSVP online to attend or run the risk of not being able to get in.
