Mermaid Society serves Cottage Kitchen Luncheon

The Mermaid Society will host lunch at the Charles S. Cock House Museum, located at 400 E. Hopkins Street, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, June 21. 

The lunch will feature beer can chicken with a bourbon peach glaze, dijon potato salad, creamed elotes and watermelon salad, assorted desserts and tea/coffee, all for $8 (cash and checks accepted only). To go plates are also available for pick up.

Local musician Tracy Weinberg will be playing tunes throughout the lunch. Attendees will also have a chance to win free tickets to the 2019 Mermaid Society Art Ball as well as other prizes like a Mermaid Society tote bag or  T-shirt.

All proceeds benefit the Heritage Association of San Marcos, an organization that supports the preservation of historic buildings and celebrates the culture and traditions that beautify and enrich the San Marcos community.

Cottage Kitchen began more than 40 years ago inside the Charles S. Cock home, a historic stone house that is now listed in the National Register. Charles S. Cock was a pioneer and a former mayor of San Marcos.
