PUT YOUR MARTIAN ON

Friday, September 22, 2023

While the streets of San Marcos this weekend will glow with a cornucopia of colors: high school and college, and this weekend, mermaid-inspired sea shades, just a little way out, at Southern Star Farms, 480 Mill Road, Maxwell, there is one more palette to experience–Martian. From Sept. 21-23, the Martian Arts Festival offers visitors an outdoor experience that is fun and so signature in scope when it comes to expressing the charismatic personality that describes greater San Marcos. This festival brings together art and music in a distinct fashion that will add to all the other events happening in our community through Sunday. In addition, the festival offers reggae rock, fusion jazz, yoga and meditation session opportunities, as well as workshops. Some of the names who will be appearing include Golden Dawn Arkestra and Luna Luna. I am particularly curious to experience the late night silent disco. There is a cost to attend but children 12 and under receive free admission when accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets range from $40 to $160. The general admission ticket also provides for free tent camping but you can choose to add an a la cart car camping pass when purchasing a ticket. The link to purchase tickets may be found at www.eventbrite.com/e/martian-arts-festival-23tickets-534143737297.
