San Marcos Art League to host annual artist social at the Rock House

The San Marcos Art League is set to host its annual social on Feb. 19 at The Rock House in San Marcos, Texas from 1 - 5 p.m. The Art League encourages active members, non-members and artists of all kinds to attend and network with those in the local art community. This year’s musical guest will be local artist Kenny Normal, and food and refreshments will be provided throughout the event.

The Art League is seeking out donations of all types for the silent auction that will take place during the event. Potential items to donate could include works of art, vouchers or gift cards from local businesses or anything in between. Funds from the silent auction will for the support the operations of the San Marcos Art League and to expand and relocate the San Marcos Art Center in the coming years.

“There is a tremendous opportunity for us to create an even stronger and more robust arts community in San Marcos,” Gerald Kurten, SMAL president, said. “We have shown that cooperation and collaboration is the key to engendering both local and national support for our priorities and visions. This is a pivotal time in San Marcos to assure that our impending growth is also anchored in the community health and well-being that the arts provides. Our local leaders are listening and supporting us.”
