Rakeitha Garner, welding instructor in the (CTT) Career Technical Training Department, was selected as the Gary Job Corps January Employee of the Month. She is a survivor of Hurricane Harvey in Houston,after which she was able to secure a position at Gary. Melissa Valdez, CTT Construction & Manufacturing Manager, said Garner “is a positive role model who coaches others to do their best.  Every trainee in the welding trade knows Ms. Garner because she develops relationships, and trainees trust and respect her.  Her personality is authentic and contagious, which is reflected in her character.” Pictured are Center Director Patty Lankford, Garner, Valdez and Rhea Medina, student taining director.
