San Marcans got a special treat last week when Kristian Nairn, the actor known for his role as Hodor on “Game of Thrones,” DJed an hour-long set at The Marc.

The show at The Marc was part of Nairn’s “Evolution” tour and drew a diverse audience — kilts and cowboy hats could be spotted among the crowd, and there was no shortage of “Mother of Dragons” and “I Drink and I Know Things” T-shirts.

Throughout Nairn’s set, fans recorded and snapped photos of him with their phones.

“I just want to see how he DJs,” said Jessica Salinas, a “Game of Thrones” fan who attended the show. “I didn’t even know he DJed, so I’m curious how his set’s going to be.”

The six foot ten inch actor has been a DJ for some 20 years, according to his official website, and has played alongside Steve Aoki and Fatboy Slim.

Nairn didn’t grant interviews on the tour, but Jacob Roberson, talent liaison for The Marc, said Nairn was happy to be in Central Texas.

“He loves Austin, so he’s happy to be back in town,” Roberson said before the show. “He’s so happy to be back … and he’s ready to play at The Marc tonight.”

The Marc was excited to have Nairn on the bill.

A group of fans brought a Game of Thrones banner to wave around during Nairn's set which featured a remix of the show's theme song.

“We’re happy to have a celebrity, and a really good progressive house-trance DJ,” Roberson said.

The club was decorated for the occasion, with banners representing houses from “Game of Thrones” hanging on the balconies. For a while there was a line of people who wanted to take photos sitting on the “Iron Throne” set up near the entrance to The Marc, but no wars started during the wait. And though Nairn’s set at The Marc was not one of his “Rave of Thrones” shows, he did treat the crowd to a  dance mix of the “Game of Thrones” theme for part of his set.
