The City of San Marcos’ Bobcats Give Back program diverted over 6,000 pounds of material from landfills by donating it to the local non-profits.

The city announced Friday that it had diverted 6,006 pounds of materials during its 2019 summer collection campaign from 13 apartment complexes, a residential drop-off site on Craddock Street and a drop-off site at Texas State University.

“We are thrilled with the response from Texas State students who donated useful items they typically would have thrown out at the end of the school year,” said Amy Kirwin, City of San Marcos Community Enhancement Initiatives Manager. “Bobcats Give Back is a great example of how fostering connections between the student populations and local organizations encourages positive outcomes.”
