The CHRISTUS Santa Rosa San Marcos Foundation has announced the appointment of two new members to its board of directors.

Amy Stanfield, a 1996 graduate of Purdue University, spent most of her summers in Texas, but grew up in Illinois. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree, she began working for a high-tech marketing firm in California for several years before moving back to Texas in 2001. She then worked for a non-profit in Austin before she met and married her husband, Dr. Steve Stanfield, and began managing his practice for more than 10 years. Today, Amy owns and operates Harper Hill Ranch, a wedding/events center, located outside of New Braunfels.

Over the years, Amy has served on numerous boards in the community including: The San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, San Marcos Education Foundation, City of San Marcos Planning and Zoning Commission, City of San Marcos Economic Development Board, San Marcos Young Professionals, Texas State University Friends of Fine Arts and Communication, the Greater San Marcos Partnership, and more. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with family, friends and her beloved pets.

John Schawe is the market president for Frost Bank in San Marcos and serves on the Austin regional management team overseeing Frost’s commercial real estate and commercial lending teams. John joined Frost more than 22 years ago and has held various positions in the bank’s commercial lending group as a credit analyst, a commercial relationship manager where he originated and serviced a large portfolio of commercial and commercial real estate relationships, and later transitioned to a management role.

A graduate of Texas State University, John earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance. John is a native of San Marcos, an SMCISD graduate, and still resides in Hays County with this family. He gives back to his community through volunteering and serving in leadership roles in many organizations including the Greater San Marcos Partnership (current board member and executive officer, past chair, secretary and treasurer), McCoy College of Business Texas State (board member), and the Scheib Opportunity Center (past board member). He is also a leader in his local church where he and his family actively attend.

“We are very pleased to have John Schawe and Amy Stanfield serve on the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa San Marcos Foundation board,” said Corey Carothers, chairman of the CHRISTUS Santa Rosa San Marcos Foundation board. “John and Amy will be great additions and we look forward to their valuable contributions.”
