I-35 exit ramp closure planned near outlet malls for Black Friday shopping

Drivers headed to the San Marcos outlet malls for Black Friday deals will have to adjust their route this weekend.

This year, the City of San Marcos will only close one Interstate 35 exit ramp near the San Marcos outlet malls for traffic control during the upcoming Black Friday weekend.

Beginning Friday, Nov. 25 at 4 a.m. to Saturday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m., the Exit 200 ramp on southbound I-35 at Centerpoint Road will be closed. For outlet mall access, southbound motorists will need to use Exit 201 at McCarty Lane.

Police presence will also increase at the outlet malls beginning Friday morning and continuing through Sunday evening with additional officers providing traffic control on Centerpoint Road.
