Kyle Police Department arrest 2 suspected of mail theft, mailbox vandalization

Kyle police arrested two suspects from San Antonio for theft of mail and vandalizing mailboxes.

Daniel Avila, 38, and Stevie Bookout, 28, were arrested by the Kyle Police Department following an investigation into several reports of mail theft and vandalized mailboxes.

Both were arrested following an investigation. Avila was charged with 32 different charges, including second degree felony of mail, possession of controlled substance, possession of dangerous drug, credit card abuses, fraud possession/use of identifying information, forgery of financial instrument, criminal mischief and failure to id fugitive.

Bookout was charged with second degree felony of mail theft, possession of dangerous drug, credit card abuses, fraud possession/use of identifying information, forgery of financial instrument and criminal mischief.

City of Kyle officials said Kyle police detectives recovered and returned a “large portion” of the stolen mail.

Police said the investigation into this matter is ongoing.
