KZSM.org proudly offers programming that expresses the wide-ranging imagination and diversity of our vibrant community. Our newest broadcast, “Creative Corner,” airs from 6-7 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. Hosted by Mandi Miller, it showcases the San Marcos Art League, the oldest arts organization in San Marcos. “We talk about who is doing what in our community in the art scene, and how diverse it really is,” Miller explains.
In the first half hour of the show, she interviews the artist of the month. “We talk with the artists about their inspirations, and about some of the things that got them started doing their work,” she says. “Every artist has a different story behind what they do.”
The second half hour of “Creator’s Corner” features a local musician who has performed at Art Squared, the League’s lively art market that takes place on the Square on the Second Saturday of each month, March-December. Popular local musician Tracy Weinberg, a member of the Art League’s Board of Directors, coordinates the music portion of “Creator’s Corner.” The January broadcast featured his witty, folk-inspired original songs.
