KZSM — Your friendly community radio
One of the best things about your true community radio station is our location, just around the corner from the courthouse! As your radio hosts sit during their live programs, we observe our friends and neighbors as they walk past our window. It is often amusing to see the varied responses as folks discover there is a radio station there. At times, some folks will stop and listen to the programming and be pleasantly surprised. At other times, some may stop and dance on the sidewalk outside our door. Occasionally, folks will come to the door and peek inside. When the situation permits, we often invite folks into the studio to see what we do at KZSM. After all, this is YOUR true community radio station.
When you see a member of our volunteer staff, feel free to ask about who we are and what we do. Although not actual requirements, friendliness and enthusiasm are characteristics that our radio hosts are encouraged to exercise.
Whether in the Kissing Alley, the Farmer’s Market, or anywhere else you may find one of our staff members, stop and say hello. We really are a friendly bunch!
This month in the Kissing Alley we will be enjoying the sounds of the San Marcos High School Salsa and Jazz bands. The concert begins at 6 p.m. on the 21st. There will also be a photo booth and Girl Scout cookies for sale.
We will also have a collection bin for women’s hygiene products to be donated to the Hays County Women’s Center.
KZSM is still accepting applications for individuals who wish to memorialize this romantic season by taking their wedding vows in the Kissing Alley. Yes, it is legal and binding! Contact us at our website for more information.
If you would like to know more about your true community radio station, have an idea for a radio program, or a suggestion on how we may serve our community better, please join us for our next volunteer staff meeting at Wake the Dead Coffee House. Meetings are held every third Wednesday from 7:30 until 9 p.m. Our meetings are always open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. Come see what we are up to or come join the family!
