The board of directors of the LBJ Museum of San Marcos stated that they are excited to announce that Douglas Brinkley will be the featured speaker at the 2024 LBJ Museum Benefit Gala scheduled for Saturday, January 20, 2024.

According to a press relsease, this is the primary fundraising event for the Museum. The gala will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the LBJ Student Center at Texas State University. Besides a wonderful evening with good food, visiting with friends and new acquaintances, there will be a silent auction with some amazing offerings all benefiting the museum.

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation by Douglas Brinkley, U.S. Presidential Historian. He is the KatherineTsanoff Brown Chair in Humanities and professor of History at Rice University, a CNN Presidential Historian, and a contributing editor at Vanity Fair. Brinkley has received seven honorary doctorates in American Studies.
